Well done Nathan
I don't really care for Nathan Lane, but I am all for people calling Riedel out. However, must he be so dramatic? Oy.

Ha! Go Nathan Lane!
LMAO love it.
But you guys do realize it was Michael Riedel who even allowed Nathan's letter to be published in his article right? He was under no obligation to make it public to all of us and the rest of the world. What a cute little game they're playing.
Excellent work, Nathan!!! Way to go
This was the most wonderful Christmas morning surprise!! Team Nathan all the way!!

Of course. Riedel sees what he does, even when it is damaging, as "all in good fun."
Riedel and Lane also have a pretty chummy relationship. In this case, the whole thing probably was "all in good fun."
Probably. Still think he's obnoxious though.
That article was hilarious !!!!!
We need "Celebrity Deathmatch" again !!!
I can see them in a revival of the Odd Couple with Reidel as Felix . It would sell out in 5 minutes.

Lane's letter was absolutely perfect and VERY funny - there's nothing dramatic about it at all. And Rick's letter is amusing, too, and informative and it's good to know the authors are still there working away, which is as it should be.

I thought the Hitler comment (whether a reference to The Producers or not) was a bit much. Again, I'm not into the Lane worship, but I think that's a tasteless joke from anyone. Just my opinion, though.

I wonder if Lane would have written a letter if he hadn't been overheard talking about the show.
And Reidel is right about shows in trouble out of town never actually come up with any major fixes anymore.
Thank you Santa for that letter.

I absolutely love this!
As the old saying goes "there is no such thing as bad publicity". A feud like this is keeping Addams Family in the papers. Good for the show, Good for Riedel, good for everyone involved.
A joke about Hitler is tasteless? Are you high?
The Hitler comment is simply referring to a famous Larry Gelbart quote he said while working on The Conquering Hero (1961), if I recall correctly. Or, maybe he was doctoring another musical's script or something... but, that's the quote!
This Riedel/Lane cat fight is adorable. Too bad much mirth can't be derived from the Banana Shpeel meltdown.
(oh, it is The Conquering Hero. See linked vidjo below.)
Larry on Hitler and Conquering Hero
Yes, fried, clearly. Who the hell are you, anyway? Do you think I mean that it's tasteless to make fun of Hitler? Of course not. I mean to refer to someone as or compare them to. Which is how I interpreted the part about him working at The Post, or whatever the exact words are.
That's not the point. I get that it's largely fake, I get that it's staged, and a quote, whatever, but it still bothers me. That's within my right.
I'm not impressed, fried.
I think you are being overly sensitive, and that too is in your right. It's just no fun.
And, yeah, I thought the Hitler/Post bit was not funny but it was hardly offensive, especially since it was bracketed and obviously replacing a 'he' which is a bit softer in context. I too think Lane is overrated, fyi, and is often bordering on grating Robin William-esque mugging. His interpretation of Gomez is lame.
He's like the Hitler of.... (someone fill this in for me)

That was awesome...
That's how I read it. I didn't think it was funny. So shoot me. Sorry to rain on your parade.
