I hadn't realized this was on last night, but my DVR recorded it automatically. This stage-film hybrid, which was shot in December 2020, stars Josh O'Connor and Jessie Buckley.

I watched it. An interesting experiment, but it didn't totally work for me. The whole meta-theatrical device consistently felt like "making do" rather than actually using it as a tool to shed new light on the text. There were some cool bits of editing, and I liked the use of the score. I found Josh O'Conner kind of bland, but I liked Jessie Buckley.
I also thought that the 90-minute runtime was too short. I have no problem with making drastic cuts to Shakespeare's text, but in this case it just felt a little too rushed.
