Let's see Voiceanth, I first saw the White Stripes live when they were touring the De Stijl album, not that you've heard of that one. I then saw them open for Sleater Kinney on their tour before their last one. Yes, the White Stripes as an opening band.
I saw Sleater Kinney on the "One Beat" tour this past October (and even had a great chat with Janet Weiss, their drummer, before the show), with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs opening for them. Yes, that's right, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs as an opening band, too. I've seen Mission of Burma twice in the last year, not that you have the faintest idea who they are, and will be seeing them two more times this fall.
Speaking of reunion tours, I enjoyed X last month and the Sex Pistols last week, with the punk band Dropkick Murphys opening with a blistering set... populist rock that puts your stadium playing hero Bruce Springsteen to shame.
Everybody who has been in my car for the past month has said, "Who is this group Junior Senior you're playing non-stop? I gotta get me a copy!" I'm not sure how they haven't heard of them, because they're all a lot hipper than you.
Don't think of this as a refutation of your poseur (that's the spelling, btw) charge, think of it as advice for people who might be trying to find some contemporary non-Broadway sounds and my bid for them not being mis-directed by your post.
Also, read your condescending tone with which you began this thread and think again about giving me attitude and telling me *I* want to hurt people. Oh, yeah, no thanks for the kiss on the mouth offer... you can kiss somewhere else.
