Did anyone receive the CD mailer of Never Gonna Dance for discount tickets of $55? What terrible voices- I hope the dancing is better because its never gonna run!!! Who was the casting director for this??
My friend tried to get good seats for a discount offer, but they were sold out. So there are a lot of people that plan on seeing it.

Tickets on discount are generally rear or side orchestra or front mezz. They hold the "better" center seats for full paying tickets. Tickets on these discount offers say they are sold out or have only crappy seats so that they can get you to but tickets for a later date to "fill the house''.
I got it yesterday but I haven't listened to it yet. Not sure I want to now.

When I received the free CD for HAIRSPRAY, the singing was done by no one else but Annie Golden from THE FULL MONTY. Does this particular CD state that the singers are actually members of the cast?
This is the second thread you've started saying this show is 'never gonna run'... based on a snippet of a song you heard. Can we at least wait till someone actually sees a show before we rip it to shreds? I'm very much looking forward to this, so I'd like to see it get a chance.
As far as discount offers, it varies. I just snagged $47.50 tix for 'Anna in the Tropics' on a discount offer from Telecharge- not bad for a Pulitzer-winning play starring Jimmy Smits. 2 orchestra seats right in the middle of aisle C... I'm no expert, but it seems to me that sometimes discount offers are sent out to mailing lists like the Telecharge one before tickets go on sale or shortly thereafter, maybe to ensure that someone is actually in the audience for the first month or so of performances, or to help drum up some good word of mouth with regular theater-goers.
I have no opinion to offer whatsoever on the merits of this play at this time, but at least if it's bad I'm only out less than $100 for 2!

I never get these mailings. Wish I was a lucky fella like the rest of you.
Just sign up for the e-mail lists on Telecharge, the New York Times, Playbill... there's tons of 'em. Or go to Broadwaybox.com- they have most of the discount codes in one handy spot.

I was wondering about the singing in this show. With a cast featuring Tony winner Karen Ziemba of Contact and Noah Racey of Thoroughly Modern Millie, and an ensemble inluding fellow Millie alums Roxanne Barlow and T. Oliver Reid, all best known for their dancing, makes me wonder why they would bother with a sampler cd. I'm still looking forward to this one, choreographer Jerry Mitchell has a lot of top notch talent to work with, and with costumes by William Ivey Long, they can't go wrong.
By the way, I didn't get the sampler (I'm wondering why, I usually get these things) but I got my tickets for $65 Row M on the side but on the aisle next to center.

I see your point, but honestly, with a CD you can at least make it sound better than real life. I would have done that if I were the producer. But, as far as Bway on Bway was concerned- that was LIVE and did not sound all that great.
I'm with Hank. Much as I love Kern, I am usually very down on 'insert old score HERE' shows but from the little bit of sprightly dancing I saw at "Broadway on Broadway" it seemed quite charming. I have my tickets.
I also received the CD today. This show looks ok. I haven't listened to the songs yet though.
