re: New Ahrens and Flattery

They are currently working on DESSA ROSE which begins previews February 17. At Lincoln Center, I believe.

Rachel York has been cast opposite LaChanze in Dessa Rose. Michael Hayden has also joined the cast in the pivotal role of Adam Nehemiah. The cast also includes Norm Lewis as Nathan.
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

DESSA ROSE, based on a novel by Sherley A. Williams, begins performances at the Mitzi Newhouse later this month, and runs through May. It stars LaChanze, Rachel York, Norm Lewis, and Michael Hayden. Tickets are selling pretty fast. I'm going end of March.

does anyone know if there is a student rush or any discounted tickets for this show? I'm going to be in the city in March and REALLY want to see it. Thanks!

007,

I hope your source is correct. I am really looking forward to seeing this show and would love to have the cast album to remember it.
