Hello fellow Broadway World friends! I'm not sure how many bookworms like myself there are on here, but there is a WONDERFUL new book out called When the British Musical Ruled the World by Robert Sellers. It's chock full of wonderful background stories and anecdotes about the big British mega musicals, and it really delves into just how shows like Evita, Cats, Starlight Express, Les Miserables, Miss Saigon, and more changed the face of theatre history.
I'm about halfway through it right now, and I can't put it down - it reminds me a lot of Everything Was Possible - The Birth of the Musical Follies. Anyways, thought i would share because I definitely think it's worth a read for those who like theatre history/ backstage stories! Happy reading!
