I was just listening to the Broadway radio station and earlier they had a news section where they said that Hasbro is planning a new musical based on the game CLUE, which will actually be more of an adaptation of the 1985 CLUE movie. I haven't seen any such news on Broadway.com or on here yet. Upon doing an internet search I found that there was a Clue musical back in the 90's Off-Broadway that didn't do well. But the news thing I heard sounded like it was a brand new work in the planning. Anyone else heard anything about this?
If it is true, I'd definitely want to see it. I love mystery comedies, and I adored the movie. Here's hoping a musical version will be able to keep it all fresh and will be very entertaining.
EDIT: Now I see Playbill has an article. I may have misheard I guess - the article seems to imply it's a stage play adaptation, not a musical. My apologies. In any case, it looks like the plans are for it to premiere at Bucks County Playhouse in Pennsylvania in May 2017, and then go on a national tour. Here's hoping it finds success!
