I like it...and the picture of Kate Shindle and Brandi Burkhardt - wow!!!
I like it very much!
It is cheesy, vulgar,...say whatever you want to say. I think it is surprisingly fresh, exciting and fun to listen to.
Out of my expectation.
Edit: I love Anthony Warlow. However, I don't mind to listen to another J&H.

Oh my God, this is the worst thing I have ever heard. I defended Frank in the Dracula thread because I love his work, but this is just awful - just another way to make a buck of people who will buy this because it's J&H. Wow, this is funny....wretched. It sounds like some awful rock opera concept recording. Wow - what a way to ruin the score Frank.
I won't be wasting my money.
Frank let J&H rest in piece. Why don't you just focus on other work. I.E. putting something good on the stage?
Well, depending on price, I am getting it for Brandi.
P.S. THE WORLD HAS GONE INSANE has terrible lyrics...not even Warlow could save it.
True about the lyrics but the score is fierce! It's on of my favorite songs from the concept because of the score.

I'm loving Rob Evan (especially that last high note in "Alive").
ETA: Ok, "Dangerous Game" sounds like they are singing to the background music of an adult film.

Not gonna lie. I agree with the previous comment about DANGEROUS GAME.
What was the point of showing Lucy and Emma in bras? Why wasn't Jekyll/Hyde in his undies too?
The recording is simply vile. This show died a death many years ago. I will not be purchasing.
"P.S. THE WORLD HAS GONE INSANE has terrible lyrics..." You mean "The world has gone insane/And parasites are eating at my brain" doesn't charm you? LOL. Sondheim eat your heart out.
The only semi-good show that Wildhorn has turned out was Pimpernel, and I give him credit for that one, but Jekyll and Hyde has not really worked in English (but was huge in Europe, right?) so it should be left alone in the memories and programmes of the people who saw it.
BUT if he does intend to give it the musicology treatment, I can't wait to hear a Gospel version of Transformation/Alive and then maybe a Zulu version of Murder Murder (why not get a witchdoctor to sing it? PERFECT!) But what I'm really hoping for is a "One More Angel in Heaven" hoedown after each murder Hyde commits. That would make me piss my pants.

Or a reggae Facade
No, seriously. I think everyone has to abandon their pre-conceptions with this show. It is not a representation of the Broadway show, or any form of the score that can be performed as a traditional theatre-piece. It's a concept album.
It's about the songs. That's the whole trouble with this whole thing. Everyone is expecting another "cast recording"
But it's not that. It's a "concept album"
Rock I appreciate your argument.
"It's about the songs. That's the whole trouble with this whole thing."
But I believe the trouble with this thing IS the SONGS. They're not rock songs. Listen to the lyrics. These songs tell part of a bigger narrative. They don't work as stand alone numbers, particularly if they're taken from their natural environment and have another musical genre laid over the top of them.
He'll be putting the songs out in braille next.

That's just the thing with me:
I first experienced Jekyll & Hyde as a concept album in 1994. It never felt like a genuine stage-show to me...
I have seen some productions of Jekyll and it just doesn't work with "the story" and the "spoken dialogue". It's more The Wall or Tommy, or Dark Side of the Moon. Or, hell, even Bat Out Of Hell: which is Adventures in Neverland.
What I mean is, any of these songs could take place anywhere in the story because they were never "cemented" in the narrative.
I've always looked at Jekyll as a concept album that tried to become a show, but wasn't terribly good at it. Now it's going full-circle and attempting to bring in an audience that don't go to the theatre. I don't have a problem with that.
I will buy this CD because that is the way I feel

FYI, I was also the musical supervisor and associate producer of the J&H OBC -- we're not trying to negate the OBC or replace it... we even received a Grammy nomination for it...
"Resurrection" is a New Thing. It is strictly "studio concept" and not in any way trying to be a staged performance.
If you expect this recording to be a replacement for the OBC, you will be disappointed (and since this is not our intention, I don't know why anyone would expect this).
This recording is "simply" the songs, recorded by great singers, with great musicians - it's a 71 minute journey and listening experience.

Well, it does have heart. Unless that was eaten out by an aardvark, or something.
In RE: Rob Evan instead of Hassehoff on the DVD... Rob Evan was filmed in the role as a rehearsal for the cameras/sound/etc. identically to what was televised and released with Hasselhoff. Thus, the show (and subsequent DVD) was recorded identically with both Rob Evan and Hasselhoff, with only the Hasselhoff performance released to the general public. That's all I'm gonna say, :)
I really like the RESURRECTION clips. Kinda Steinmanian... I'll admit to being a big fan of epic theatrical rock or as Ethan Mordden calls it "greasy pop", so maybe I'm biased. Also, LOVE Kate Shindle.
A Good Nightmare Comes So Rarely,

Can't listen to them until I get home, but Anthony Warlow is and will always be the definitive Jekyll/Hyde, but what else would you expect me to say.

btw..Frank always wanted Lucy and Emma in Fredricks of Hollywood lingere IN THE SHOW...SEE THROUGH as much as possible.
the costume designers had the sense to not do that. with this...he can have Emma and Lucy in anything he wants them in and he chose for them to be in bras. very tasteful. why am i not surprised?
jeremy, you're so classy...the recording/mixing/orchestrations are amazing. really innovative and fresh. i think Brandi is great and has the appropriate mix for Emma. that is HUGE coming from ME...believe me when i say that. i love her voice. she sounds like Linda AND Christianne in one person. you CAN really tell Linda's voice has influenced her. i am not a big fan of the scoop which all three of them do A LOT. but for those who LOVE american idol this will be right up their alley! that is NOT meant as an insult... i am just more old school and scooping makes ME INSANE!
i will not post anything negative about it because i think jeremy is an amazing talent and i look forward to his future projects non-wildhorn.

and no one looks better in a bra and blazer than Kate Shindle..
B*ATCH! hahaha..kate knows i love her.
Rock music and lingerie? I can see it: by day, he's a compassionate doctor, but by night...then Jekyll rips his clothes off to reveal a teddy and begins singing Sweet Transvestite in a homicidal way.
Don't say it; I know I need help.
