anyone else got them yet....came out Monday
sorry, this should be on the other board
There was a large poster announcing their release in my post office today. They looked nice, but I've never been a fan of stamps like that. I stick to the standard american flag ones (boring, I know).
I heard this from my stamp-collecting friends- I asked them to pick some up for me. They look pretty neat.
adam, you've never been a fan of stamps that honor people for their contributions to the world?
that's odd......

I don't know if I missed sarcasm or what, but how is that odd, exactly?

If they depict Judy Garland as Dorothy, I'm gonna hurl. Judy Garland has done so much more than "The Wizard of Oz".
She's not Dorothy! She's Judy! See link below.
Judy Garland Stamp
She looks a lot like Liza in that shot, wow.

Am I the only one sickened by the thought of Rufus Wainright using a Judy stamp? THE ARROGANNNNNNNNCE.

The stamps were sold in the lobby of Carnegie Hall during Rufus's Judy concerts there.
I don't think that looks like her at all.
And besides Scout, Cal is my favorite character in To Kill a Mockingbird.
I've never read anything by Mark Twain.

It looks exactly like her in A Star is Born. This image is actually one of the most used Garland pictures besides Dorothy.
I love it.
Everytime I think of Judy, I think of her as Esther Smith. On the trolley. Singing.
Oh, sure - We get to "choose" which ELVIS stamp we want - but where's the choice between "MGM Glamour 'Girl Crazy' Judy" and "Sassy '62 Judy" as well as "'This Is Mrs. Normaine Maine' Judy"?!
Judy is SOLD OUT on the Upper West Side. And I'm still not finished with Hattie McDaniel and Yip Harburg (he needs an additional 3 cents stamp).
I still have Hattie stamps, too
Yes, it does look like Judy in 'A Star is Born'. Maybe my all-time favorite movie musical.
I was at the post office today and saw the poster hanging up before I ever read this thread, and picked up a book of them.
Now my mail will be among the GAYEST mail in NYC.
munk~ Now if only they would make a stamp with Liza AND Judy....
