Coming to NYC for HP this Sunday but driving up Sat and looking for something to see Sat evening. Will be entering most lotteries or looking at TKTS/TodayTix, but just wondering if there are any new/good/underrated musicals that are off or off-off I should be looking at instead?
My partner and I tend to be into newer stuff but are usually out of the loop and often find out when they're already done for.
Some albums we've had on rotation recently are Be More Chill, Gay Card, and Percy Jackson. Longtime Pasek & Paul fans, seen DEH 4 times between DC & NY, but also into Dogfight, Edges, Greatest Showman, and don't hate Christmas Story. Other shows we've really dug over the years are bigger name stuff like Next to Normal, Book of Mormon, Spring Awakening, Wicked, Putnam County, and smaller stuff like Altar Boyz & Bare. We've seen in the past couple years Waitress (tour), Spongebob, and Hamilton. I saw that [Title of Show] has an off-off production with its last night being Sat so that is in consideration because I regret not getting out to see that 10 years ago.
Sooo with this now lengthy post - any suggestions?
