is pleased to introduce a new series for writers

COFFEE HOUSE

Debuting Thursday, August 31st

with six writers sharing their new work:

Joe Barone, Phil Geoffrey Bond, Ethan Kanfer,
Josh Mcilvain, Bill Russell & Kyle Spearman

The Daryl Roth Theatre is pleased to announce a new series which will take place in its D-Lounge cabaret space. COFFEE HOUSE: THE WRITERS will be a monthly event, featuring new work from writers of all varieties: playwrights, poets, short story writers, essayists, etc. Each writer will present approximately ten minutes of his or her new work.

The series kicks off on Thursday, August 31st at 7pm. There is a $7 cover charge, as well as a two-drink minimum. The D-Lounge is located within The Daryl Roth Theatre complex, at 101 East 15th St., right off of Union Square East. For reservations, please e-mail [e-mail], or call 212.375.1110, ext.3.

For the debut of the series, six writers will be featured:

Joe Barone – will present the first ten minutes of his play, Sandspots.

Phil Geoffrey Bond – will read from his short story, My Friend.

Ethan Kanfer – will present the first ten minutes of his play, Tea Party.

Josh Mcilvain – will present his comedic monologue, Cruise Ship.

Bill Russell – the Tony-nominated lyricist of Broadway’s Sideshow, will share some of his original poetry.

Kyle Spearman – will present the first ten minutes of his play, Menu Driven.

* The new plays will be professionally cast. Mr. Bond and Mr. Russell will present their work themselves.

Created as a venue for writers and other artists to share their work in a casual atmosphere, Coffee House exists to promote the work of artists both established and up and coming, serving as a testing ground for new compositions.
