New Production of John and Jen on BroadwayHD

The new London production of Andrew Lippa's and Tom Greenwald's John & Jen was released for streaming on BroadwayHD today.

This is a major overhaul of the show, which originally premiered in 1995. While the original production took place from 1952 to 1990, this version takes place from 1985 to 2022.

I grew up with the original soundtrack, having listened to it since high school, so that version still holds a special place in my heart. However, this version uses the shift in time period to it's advantage. Apart from cultural references being updated,

The actress playing Jen is phenomenal. The actor playing John has trouble maintaining a consistent accent, but he's a solid scene partner.
