I was trying to find the website for the Korean cast of Rent that was posted a few months ago (the one with the audios of all the songs) and so I searched on Google. Instead of finding that, however, I found a column talking about the movie instead, with some good quotes from Anthony and Julie Larson. But does anyone here have the link to the Korean Rent website?

Here you go.
I totally know which thread you're talking about (it was a really interesting site) but I'm afraid I don't remember the site either. :-/ I guess your best bet would be to use the search feature here and try to come up with it but I don't know. I'm sorry I can't be of more help, it was a really awsome thread.
And great article!
The show that the article is mainly about, the one Rodney is part of, sounds very interesting. I wonder if there's more info about it somewhere.
Thanks Aigoo!
Dreamcatcher, there was an article about "Sides" in the NYTimes on Sunday, the same day as the Rent article. I'll try to find the link.
Geez, we're all about sharing the links in this thread!

Love the picture. The show sounds hilarious, I thought about going to see it when I'm in NYC next month. And I didn't even realize that this Rodney was Anthony's Rodney until this other article. So fruitless searches can turn out to be good!

They brought up NPH when they mentioned ttB.
If they shoot a movie version and Raul Esparza DOESN'T play Jonathan....
Yeah it sounds like a really good show. When I go look at colleges in NYC this fall, I'm going to try to go see it I think if its still running. Same here orangeskittles, I've heard breifly about the show before but I didn't know it was that Rodney until this article. :-P Thanks for the link!
Whoever makes that movie WILL GO DOWN. WAY THE HELL DOWN.
Although I think the actors look credible in their roles, whoever says that they look "as youthful" as they did ten years ago isn't looking at the right photos for comparison. The recent NY Times article proved that they've matured in appearance! Well, that and the fact that when they were doing the show, they were my age and I wouldn't dare mistake them for members of my own age group now! They are more attractive now anyway.
"Whoever makes that movie WILL GO DOWN. WAY THE HELL DOWN."
Why?
I wasn't talking about RENT - insomniak said something about a TTB movie, and if a hypothetical movie were to be made without Raul Esparza as Jon - which, if a movie version is made, will probably be the case. I just... well, you know. I'd think he'd deserve to do it. To clarify before I get yelled at by anybody, since things are hard to read on the internet, etc, I wasn't totally serious. Whatever. I'd just be sad. That's all.
I've got to agree that the Rent cast is more attractive now. I have the two-page spread from Elle sitting out so I can hang it up, and they really are quite the beautiful group.
Emcee, I got what you meant. I thought it was really funny that your reaction to TTB the movie was the same as your originally feelings on the Rent movie. And look how things have changed
Oh, I thought the same thing when I typed that. I said it with a small sense of embarassed hypocrisy, but... you know. Some things never change.
I agree as well, if anything, the RENT OBC cast is even more attractive now then it was 10 years ago. I don't necessarily think that the cast look exactly as they did in 1996 but they still look amazing in their respective roles.
My roommate says that Adam looks like a cross between a little girl and a sad puppy with his long hair.
... I thought that was good for a laugh.
Hahaha it's surprisingly kind of true now that I think about it. Maybe not so much the little girl part, but the sad puppy part could be true. :-P
Emcee, I figured you picked up on the hypocrisy, that's why I thought it was so funny.
Who knows, maybe lightning can strike twice in the same place and the powers that be will realize that they have to make ttB, and that the only way to make it is with Raúl. (Although, if it's going to take them 10 freakin' years like it did with Rent, there's a guy at my school that did ttB and he was really good. He even kind of looked like him).
And this is completely random, but I just noticed that there are over 500 views to this thread, but only 13 posts. I feel like we're being watched.
On a totally separate note, and one related to the original topic - I'm going to see Rodney's show (Sides) on Thursday. From what I've heard, it's hysterical, so that should be fun.
Has anybody seen it yet?
(PS, if it takes ten freakin' years, he probably *will* actually be too old. Hell, he thinks he's too old for it now! Probably not in the sense that he *looks* too old, because we all perfectly well know that he doesn't, but because of what the show says about finding your place when you don't know where your life is going, etc. At almost thirty-five, that's not something he feels anymore, I guess. Well, let's hope for some more lightning, should this even come to pass!)
Bump.
No one's seen it at all?
I'm planning on seeing it next month, but not yet.
Maybe if you started a new thread on it (I hate that) someone who doesn't usually lurk in Rent threads may have seen it.
I'll probably post a review when I get back - maybe get some interest/discussion going. It's supposed to be really funny!
Hooray, an excuse to keep posting now that I'm back at school! It's been no fun being a board lurker with nothing to contribute.
I saw Sides when it won at the Fringe, and saw it again about a month ago. It's still as hilarious as ever with some great changes/additions. Rodney's over-the-top humor really steals the show in my opinion, although the entire cast is great. Nice group of people, too, with some pretty impressive credits under their belts.
Emcee, looking forward to reading your (and others') review.
yay, Rodney!
I'm leaving soon.
Do you know the approximate running time, by the way?
I don't remember exactly, but it's not very long at all - I think only something like an hour and fifteen minutes, possibly even less. There's no intermission, though, I remember that. It also flies by - I couldn't believe it had already been over an hour. There really isn't a slow point in the show.
Oh, wow. That's short. Which is good, because I have so much reading to come home to. whee.
