I was reading yesterday that he officially signed on to do the remake of "Oldboy", a gritty and extremely violent Korean revenge thriller.
Is that what you are referring to?

No actually I wasn't referring to Oldboy specifically. Even though Patti LuPone being locked in a hotel room where she couldn't order room service & then getting out & plotting vengeance & death sounds exciting!
There's also speculation that it could be a "Do The Right Thing" sequel where he reprise his role as Mookie. Or a new HBO movie.

Sigh. There's absolutely no way you can improve on Oldboy. It's just not possible. Why doesn't Spike Lee do something else?
The protagonist is a man in his 40s. Tough as nails type. Don't know who would be good off the top of my head.
