re: New Shows for London?

Ah, just the list I wanted! Thanks dear!

Is there a good website that lists West End shows and their respective theatres?

Whatsonstage and the rest of them don't seem to have a list of shows that are coming in, the dates of the previews and their premieres.

I'm very excited for August Osage.....heehee.

re: New Shows for London?

you can try www.theatre.com, which re-direcs to broadway.westend.com, or sommin like that, but try theatre.com, and www.albemarle-london.com, which is also a good resource as it has full, detailed seating plans for every theatre, which even ticket master is missing

re: New Shows for London?

Priscilla has and hasn't, i'm pretty sure (Correct me if wrong) that there has been no official announcement for the theatre, but there is deffinatley a production coming (See the shows website) and ALW has said in an interview that he is looking forward to giving it a permenant home in one of his largest, most central theatres from March 2009.

re: New Shows for London?

I'd just like to register my excitement at the RSC winter season, not only doing 'Hamlet', 'Dream' and 'Shrew' at the Novello, but also presenting some new pieces at Wilton's Music Hall, a simply beautiful venue that MUST be visited.

Also, 'Six Characters in Search of an Author' is on CRACK, yet I'm seeing it in London in a couple of weeks anyway. I'm such a sucker for Rupert Goold's insanities. ;_;

re: New Shows for London?

Priscilla will be confirmed at the launch on the 16th. The imagery on the launch invitation is brilliant, much nicer than the existing stuff... I'm not sure we'll keep it though.

What's interested me here is Can't Smile Without You... at the Lyric?! When?! What's going on with that?! Poor Never Forget!!

re: New Shows for London?

The Phantom sequel, presumably, end 2009. The Adelphi presumably. "Billy" is to be coming back soon, as announced at the Don Black concert. No reference to exactly when or where though. And the wonderful Watermill production of Sunset Boulevard is looking very, very likely. It is just a question of finding an appropriate when and where. And wasn't David Ian to produce Xanadu, or has that been shelved? There was some question of "Tarzan" too, as I recall.

re: New Shows for London?

I doubt TARZAN would come over tbh, however...if they wanted to give it a go they'd need to vamp it up biggggggggg time.

It has the makings of a hit because its quite (at times) a spectacular show, it just doesn't have the score or book to pull it off. If they were addressed, then who knows...

Plus, if they made more of a deal about Phil Collins writing it, then maybe it would bring a few more in? I.e parents wouldn't dread taking there kids to a show like this if they knew a musician 'from their day' was involved haha.

Alas, we'll probably get the Little Mermaid. Joy.
