I remember reading somewhere that the new TKTS booth in Duffy Square would be open for the beginning of the New Year. I haven't been in the city for a while so I'm wondering, is the new booth open yet? I haven't heard any news so I'd assume not.
Considering the time of year, has TKTS not been as crowded lately? Last time I was waiting, the line went all the way down the wind tunnel and curved around the building.
I really can't understand why it's taking sooooo long ! I mean, when skyscrapers are built in less time, why does it take such a long time for a simple ground level structure and a new pavement around it ? It really puzzles me, unless there are facts I don't know !
I also really like the new location. It would always get so hectic around in the middle of the street, and even though it's crowded, it seems much less hectic in that passageway in the Marquis.
I agree with Neverandy. When I was in NYC last summer the lines moved quickly, but there were more windows and we were out of the rain at one point. I see no point in opening it again in the old spot when the temporary is so comfortable.
The point in question is not where it would be better ! I have no reason to doubt all those that say it is much better in the new location ! But, since the powers that be, decided that it would reopen on its classic spot, why is it taking so long ? It was supposed to be unveiled on New Year's Eve, wasn't it ? Was any formal explanation given about missing that, much advertised, deadline ? For God's sake, it is a concrete/plastic/metal box with a set of pre-made stairs on top, it's not the new World Trade Center !!!!
