My post had nothing whatsoever to do with Hamilton. Perhaps you are the one in need of getting off something.

Shows are not "saviors" and if they are the only reason anyone has to live, that's unfortunate and sad. I do think it is the best show in the last 2 generations, but you are free to think otherwise. The point of my post was to point out the ignorance of what people were saying about Charles's list, and the pathology that is rampant here in terms of going off on non-existent situations. If you think those are good things, then that's something also you are free to think, but it kinda puts you in bed with the folks I am making fun of.

If you can't keep up with the discussion, maybe you should just go to the circus again.

Great year for British plays 6/10 were in Ben's top 10 and not even School of Rock made the list.

"And if you need further proof that this was a year requiring hard choices, note the absence of “Hamilton” from my selection; that fine show has been hosanna-ed so thoroughly that it hardly needs more recognition, at least until the inevitable Pulitzer and Tony Awards add to its luster.)"

Really, he must think quite a lot of himself if he thinks that if he recognized "Hamilton" in his top 10 it would make a difference. Whether you like Brantley or not, he is the one critic people may actually know and care about his top 10 list.

Brantley: "Astonish me, rattle me, change the way I see."

Anyone astonished, rattled or vision-changed by the inane WOLF HALL is too easily astonished, rattled and vision-changed. More of Brantley's Anglolingus.

I'm pleased with how many plays made the list! I'm heading back to NYC in March and really want to catch The Humans and/or King Charles III. I also find it odd that Brantley already included Color Purple on his list, especially since it hasn't opened yet! Regardless of that, it makes me excited to see it on my Spring trip!
