New Yorkers: What Channel is NY1 on Time Warner Cable?
#0New Yorkers: What Channel is NY1 on Time Warner Cable?
Posted: 6/11/06 at 4:44pmThere's a "Live Preview To The Tonys" listed in the TV listings on NY1 6:30-8:00. What channel is that for Time Warner Cable?

I have basic cable.
Channel 1 is nonexistent. But I pay for it through Time Warner. I must have it somehow.
Anyone?

If you just have basic cable, try channel 11.

Posted: 6/11/06 at 5:01pmUm, are you SURE you're connected to Time Warner cable? NY1 is channel 1 in all 5 boroughs as well as Jersey. If you don't have it, perhaps something is wrong with your cable or your setup. I would call Time Warner ASAP (the repair department is there 24/7).

I write a check out to Time Warner Cable every month, so I'm sure that I have cable TV through them.
I just called, and the woman I spoke with was clueless. Channel 1 is a blank blue screen for me.
(sigh)

Posted: 6/11/06 at 5:10pmI have news for you. Then you're NOT fully connected to TW cable, because if you were, you'd have NY1. Period. You need a repairman to come out. How many channels do you get?

Sigh.
Margo, the most basic of basic cable with TWC does not include a cable box. NY1 is run through a different channel since most TVs constructed before 2004 didn't include a channel 1. Channel 1 only happens when you've got the cable box.
To the dear who posted this... I *think* it was channel 65, but I'm not certain. I've been away too long.

jaybrrd, thanks for the heads up. That must have been my problem. I don't have a cable box. I always thought it kind of silly to spend an extra $10 a month to rent a cable box when the reception I get from the wall jack directly to my television is perfect. Grr to Time Warner.
