Hey, everyone. I just moved to NY this past Sunday - caught the closing performance of SITPWG which was absolutely spectacular (and you cant go wrong with hiptix). Saw Xanadu from the stage tonight(I had seen it from the orch back in Dec) and strategically placed myself this time so Mary Testa would rub my shoulders and run her fingers through my hair, followed by Jackie Hoffman turning around and offering me popcorn later in the show.

I'm working 8-5, and ran during my lunch hour to try and purchase some student rush tickets, it must've been about 12:45 when I got to TLM and found that all tickets were already sold. I was just wondering if anyone had any info on this and whether people line up, and whether tickets are usually gone in the first 5 mins of the box office opening or not??

Also, just wanted to put it out there that I'd be more than willing to team up for lottos with anyone. There really isnt a show I wont see, so if you want to double your chances just let me know (via PM).

I don't know that TLM actually has a set time they sell their student rush tix. When I went back in April, I got there when the BO opened and was told that it's up to the discretion of the theatre if and when they sell student tickets each day, and to come back later to see if any decisions had been made. I went back several times, and it wasn't until around 4:30 that they decided to sell me student tickets, right after they had just told the person in front of me that they didn't have any. Between that person going to the window and me going to the window, a ticket broker returned his tickets to the BO, and I'm pretty sure those are the tickets they sold to me. I don't know if anything has changed since then, but it all seemed pretty arbitrary at the time.

I was under the impression that they sold the student rush tickets weekdays only when the box office opens and they sell whatever they have left at the student rusht price.

On Friday, I managed to get to the theater at around 10:20 and got a front row seat.

I was under the impression that it was Tues, Wed, and Thurs only, and they sold front row seats when the box office opened. But I have heard stories of people getting rush tickets on different days of the week. I went for a Wednesday matinee, got there 9 am and was first in line. The second person didn't show up till around 9:30. I wonder if it has since become busier. I am not sure a lot of people even know there is rush.

I thought that it was tuesday wednesday and thursday only. I thought Mermaid was the same like all shows that offer student rush in that they don't offer it on friday nights or the weekend.

When I went I got there after school let out on a wednesday about an hour before showtime and got a seat that was in the orchestra about five or so rows back.
