New tours?

What exactly does it mean when a "new tour" is being sent out? What makes the tour "new" in comparison to the previous one? Completely new cast? I just don't understand why this "new" Hairspray tour isn't just being considered an extension of the one that is soon to be "ending." I hope I'm making some sense.

I could care less what "New" means. Just as long as it comes back to Detroit. That way I can see the full version rather than just the Las Vegas version I plan on seeing when I visit my grandparents.

I assume it means it will be taking a break first, then starting over with a new cast.
