My sister took me to see 'The jungle Book' at the Odeon Swansea (above) and it was sold out all performances that day **they called them performances back then and all seats were bookable 4 weeks in advance!
So, there's me all distraught at the thought of not seeing Mawgli and Co, so she quickly (much to my protest) ran us around to the other fabulous cinema in the city, The Albert Hall (2500 seat palace!). There in its 2nd year was 'The Sound Of Music' - what more can I say? 'thanks Sis, I can never repay you'!
That was my first of 100s of viewings of that movie in a real old cinema.
I caught 'The Jungle Book' a few weeks later.
