Next B-way Diva - thanks CCM

Just saw Songs of Love and Aggravation. The newest diva to come out soon will be Marla Weiner, belting to the heavens. She's graduating soon from CCM, home of Shoshana Beam, Sara Gettlefinger, and also Ashley Brown. How do they get those voices?

CCM is a great school. I have a relative who went there for musical theatre and a former student who went for classical voice. It is a rigorous program and not everyone makes it the whole way through. Not only do they provide top quality training but they also help students get agents with showcases and things like that. From what I have heard from some former students who are doing the NY thing now (either auditioning or going to grad shcool at NYU), the word around town is that if you went to CCM, you can write your ticket to Broadway. Well maybe that is an exaggeration, but have you ever noticed how many times CCM is listed in playbill bios within the last 5 years or so? It's pretty impressive.

Marla has changed her name to Marla Mindell so if you are looking for her in the future that's what she is going by now.
