Yeah, I think Young Frankenstein an Producers have similar sounding scores as well. Are they identical? Of course not. Young Frankenstein has a little edge for infusing some Eastern European flavor in a couple of songs, but I found both scores incredibly generic, bland and unmemorable. I enjoy the Mel Brooks films, but not the musicals. Producers was ok, I guess. There was a lot more originality in the book instead of being such a literal adaptation. Young Frankenstein bored me to pieces. I doubt I'd see Blazing Saddles as it is not one of my favorite Mel Brooks films.

Agree with everything Mister Matt says, never got the hype over The Producers and have no idea how it won the Tony for best score over any of the others nominated.
