This just in from the Spidey team:

Apparently getting cold feet after Sunday's performance, work has begun on Spiderman's sequel that will slowly start to interpolate with the show after opening. On February 25th, most of the changes will be in place and a second opening night will occur. The working title, "Spider Man II: Susan Boyle's Big Adventure", will focus on the rise of Susan Boyle. Most of the current set and technical aspects will remain in place.

The show will feature music and lyrics by Sting and The Police and Broadway veteran Liza Minnelli will come in to direct the piece.

The production team is tight lipped around many details at the moment, but briefly described the elaborate opening sequence featuring Cherubs "peeing" golden pee in a web over the audience only to find Susan Boyle sitting on the toilet in her scummy apartment. After her fame ensues, Boyle will end up being given the title of Queen and will end up sitting on a giant animatronic pyrotechnic flying throne that also resembles a toilet. The show will feature an elaborate closing number where Boyle, from her throne, gives the world the gift of chocolate that can only be described as the "best musical number in the history of the Broadway musical" (note: the number has not been written yet). Liza stated, but was quickly quieted by the producers, that the number is a metaphor for how not only Spiderman has literally taken a giant **** (poop) on the Broadway community but Boyle also doing the same thing to the public.

A hologram of Judy Garland "may" make an appearance as well. Apparently in the same place Liza had kept the only reel of "Liza With A Z" is hours of holographic footage of her late mother.

The hope is to salvage the show, which is already failed to flop-dom, and in turn produce Broadway's first successful musical sequel. When asked what the cost of the new incarnation will cost, Liza only could comment. "Who wants to see a $65 million dollar Susan Boyle spectacular? I don't." The budget is apparently set at $85 million.

Spiderman may make an appearance.

Music by Sting? Sounds fine by me. Just think: melody that's actually melodic, lyrics that use grown up words, thought slightly deeper than your standard emo-rock angst.

I think Liza will roam Times Square during the day dressed as Sally Bowles and charge 20 bucks for a bj and a box seat.

Why? It isn't any more ridiculous than the Spiderman that's playing now.

You were doing more or less fine with your opening post. Now you're just looking lame.

Wow. That was totally uncalled for.

And this thread is pointless.

I loved the scenefrom the show they did on THE VIEW this morning where Susan starts to sing, basically croaks out a sound from Hell, tries to sing again and hits a low L or M and then stops the prerecorded tape and Sherri Shepherd reads from her note card, "Susan, you have the voice of an angel". and Whoppi says "Girl, you just have a frog in your throat, I got one in mine right now myself".
Riveting theatre!
