Yes, Jessica Simpson would be great - also Brittany Murphy - has the looks and the voice.

Jessica Simpson isn't tall enough though.

It's better to a little bit shorter than the role requires than not having the vocal chops or look of the character. Jessica Simpson could definitely act the role, SING the hell out of the role, and I don't think the minimal dancing would be a problem for her. She would bring in tons of people...I think she's perfect.

Besides, who says Ulla has to be tall?

Well Mel Brooks said so. The tall, blonde, Swedish bombshell. And every person he has cast for the role has fitted that description.

Yes and maybe if Jessica got the part, there would be someone to FINALLY direct her away from her bizarre facial contortions? Doesn't she look just like a little kid over-doing the lip-synching in front of their bedroom mirror? Just me? Okay.

I have to disagree about only heavy people talking about how Nicole and others are too thin.

YES, she is at industry standard and that is the problem. Industry standards are coat hangar thin and trying to BE like them when your body is genetically predisposed to being a normal size or heavy. The tendency for a much larger percentage of young girls to be bulemic and anorexic is THERE. Look at the statistics. We, in this country need to recognize that not everyone is thin and beautiful and, for the most part, even those who are sacrifice their health by maintaining an artificially thin appearance (starving and working out 4 hrs a day) and by having a lot of plastic surgery and Botox.

Open your eyes and smell the latte!

no one is saying it's easy for her to gain weight. In fact, if she were the right person for the role in the Producers she could wear a body suit to fit the part...I wouldn't care.

SHE'S NOT...I repeat...NOT right for this part. Nothing mean about the statement. Just the truth. She would not have been cast in this role except for Box Office concerns

NOW...we really are being silly. Just because she LOOKS right doesn't mean she is right for the role either.

How about if we get someone who can act and sing and dance...oh, right we had one of those but she didn't have a big enough name

Cady

Oh well, all I can ask is that, in an attempt to solve the Nicole dilemna, we don't go from bad to worse. Let's try to pick someone who can actully perform the part and then worry about their looks which can be augmented (dye the hair, give her falsies)...that person is NOT Nicole.

I think I'd shoot myself if they gave Jessica Simpson the role. She can't sing. She screams. There's a difference.

I'm excited to see how Ms. Kidman pulls this off. I have faith in her. I think she's a very talented performer.
