Forgive me if this has been posted, which I'm sure it has, but I'm always so unsuccessful with the search feature on this site.
But wasn't the Nine DVD release supposed to include some cut musical numbers? I think "Only With You" was one of them? What happened that caused them not to be included on the DVD?

A 2 disc collectors edition dvd was released in France, I'm waiting for it to arrive. It's likely to include deleted scenes.
It doesn't look like the special edition 2 dvd collectors edition from France will include the deleted scenes either. Here is the description (in French of course but should be obvious):
DVD 1 :
* Commentaire audio "Le réalisateur : Bob Marshall" (8')
* Clip : "Take It All"
DVD 2 :
- "Les femmes de Nine" (12')
- "Marion Cotillard" (13')
- "L'incomparable Daniel Day Lewis" (6')
- "Lumières, décors et costumes" : tous les secrets de Nine (10')
- "Les danseurs de Nine" (6')
* Clips :
- "Cinema Italiano" (3')
- "Unusual Way" (3'42")
* Making of de "Cinema Italiano" (3')

So basically, it just has what the Blu-ray version got (sans that panel discussion) spread across two discs? That's almost as pointless as the movie.

I still have hope for Only With You to be included mainly because of the alternate cover. You can see a shot of it on the lower right corner.
I wonder if they just didn't want to put more clips of Daniel Day-Lewis singing out there, his voice is truly horrendous and I say this as one of the 10 people who enjoyed the film.
At least they could have released Be On Your Own by Marion Cotillard.

What was actually filmed and what was just recorded?
Was it something like this?
Filmed but deleted:
Only With You - Day-Lewis
Recorded but not filmed:
Simple - Cruz and Kidman (changed into a duet)
Be On Your Own - Cotillard (Before being replaced with Take It All)
Take It All - Cotillard, Cruz, and Kidman (before it was changed into a solo)
Hell, bring it ALL on.
Stop treating this movie as if it were "Star Wars" and give us our Special Features now.
It's like the ugly girl at the prom holding out for the handsome jock. Do you REALLY think he's going to hang around and see if you throw him a "bone?"
Give it UP, already.
Haha, Besty, that was a great analogy and I couldn't agree more!

After seeing those French covers, I hate the US DVD cover even more. Why waste space listing every award the movie DIDN'T win? Make it look pretty instead! Most people gravitate towards an attractive package (regardless of the insides), and the only thing that drew me to the "Nine" DVD was the fact that I wanted it (I'm also one of the 10).
I would love to see a bonus disc with alternate/extended takes of the musical numbers, like the "Razzle Dazzle" edition of "Chicago" got. It would be nice to see what the numbers looked like before "reality" interrupted.
