Before the matinee of Sly Fox I decided to stop across the street at the Supper Club to get some info on the dessert show for Friday night. The girl at the box office said that the dessert shows were cancelled and when I asked if there were any tix left for any of Adam Pascal's performances she then said that he would not be appearing. She said that my credit card company would arrange reimbursment. I still haven't gotten any word about it. I wonder if I will before Friday.

This is very odd. Was there a show tonight?

As I mentioned in previous threads, CHEF'S THEATER was one of the most satisfying evenings I've had in the theater all season. I truly hope it doesn't shutter.

She only said that the dessert shows were cancelled but I believe that there was a brunch scheduled at the time that I was in there. It was pretty quiet in the lobby with no one coming in or out so I don't know. There was no sign on the door so.. We're very disappointed but I still haven't been contacted. I can only assume that the ticket sales were slow.

Whoa.... I have tickets for this Wednesday, the 19th. I'm freaking out... who has information about what's going on? Are all of his shows cancelled or just the one Teacher510 was going to? Someone help, please!! I need to see Adam, and I spent a lot of money on this!

I haven't gotten any notification either but according to the girl at the box office all dessert shows are cancelled and she said that Adam is not performing at all. I asked for any tickets to any of his performances and that was her answer. It sounds like they may have your shows available but without Adam. Except for the now-cancelled dessert shows they had the chef and some other singers before the featured performer so I guess they could do it. I would call to check on the status of the dinner shows. If I don't hear soon I'm going to call to confim what I was told. Good luck!

It seems to me that you should be able to get a refund if Adam isn't performing (is this due to his return to AIDA?). I mean, if you'd bought the tickets to see a specific performer and he doesn't show up, that should result in a refund--no questions asked.

This has been bugging me all night. We need answers, people! I wonder why... maybe because of Aida, or maybe they haven't been selling enough tickets... who knows? *cries*

I do, however, think it's just a little bit weird that he's scheduled to begin performing there this Tuesday, and there's been no notification. I sort of think that if people had bought tickets to see Adam, they'd be notified of a change.... I haven't gotten anything yet, and there's nothing on the Chef's Theatre website about it either. Hmmmm.... strange.

You might get to see a top-notch replacement--like Susan Lucci.

*whines*
But I want to see Adam!

I guess I'll call the theatre in the morning, see what's up. I think I'll be crushed if he isn't performing. Then I will slip into a deep depression until June 28th. Sad, aren't I? On second thought, don't answer that... it was rhetorical.

Ok guys, I just got off the phone with someone at Chef's Theatre. You should've seen me... I was totally freaking out on this guy, but he was really, really nice. Anyway, here's the deal: He told me that there was a flood and something happened to the set, causing them to have to cancel tomorrow night's show. He also said that they were cancelling the dessert shows - he didn't say why, but I'm assuming it's for the same reason. He said that they're on for Wednesday, and I guess the rest of the other shows excluding dessert, apparently without a set. Then I asked if there was anything with a change in performers, or if Adam was still on, so he went to check for me and said that Adam was indeed performing. So Teacher, if you want to go, maybe you should try calling the theater.

*sigh of relief*
Thank God.

TheGirlInTheFrock, are you ready?! lol!

I sure hope that you got the real story. Let me know how it went. I'm not sure after thinking about it if I want to go for the dinner even with a discount. I liked the idea of the dessert since it seemed to be all Adam-no chef, no trio or whatever. I got the dessert tix for $25 with the discount and that seemed well worth it. If you guys give a good report maybe we'll go for it. Otherwise I'll wait 'til Aida on 6/29. Have a great time!

I read on Playbill On Line that they had to cancel the dessert shows because they were poorly attended.

Actually I'm glad you're getting to see Adam. The enviornment at CHEF'S THEATER is a bit more informal, so you just might get to meet him--keep and eye out for who's hanging out at the bar in the back of the dining room. You'll find that some of the performers are there when they aren't on stage. Adam might be one of them.

Too bad you're not going to see Mimi Hines. I understand she puts her walker aside when she tap dances nowadays.

I thought the low ticket sales was the reason. I'm disappointed -sounded like fun. We did meet Adam at the Zipper Theatre last summer so... Hopefully I'll see a refund without too much hassle. Maybe they'll even notify me!!

Arghhhh I was finally starting to get really excited about this - especially after DP said I'd have a good chance of meeting him, (though I have before... wonderous) and it's been a while since I've seen my Adam. Literally as I was reading this thread I got an e-mail notifying me that the show was cancelled.

*cries hysterically*

Ah, well, at least I know I'll get to see Adam in Aida.... only a few more weeks. I guess I can wait.

I wonder if this is all because of what's going on with the set and whatnot... I hope everything's ok with Adam.

*cries some more*
I will now fall into a deep depression until June 28th.
