ELPHABA Female, 20 - 35, any ethnicity. The “wicked” witch. Born with emerald-green skin, she has had a rough childhood and is an outcast from the beginning. Smart, fiery, sensitive, passionate, misunderstood, sincere, has potent inner beauty, rallies for the underdog, has great talent for sorcery, Needs star power and a powerhouse, high pop/rock belt singing voice. Role originated by Idina Menzel. STARRING
GLINDA Female, 20 - 35, Caucasian. The “good” witch. Pretty, charming, entrancing, ambitious, perky, vain, very popular, but also vulnerable and sympathetic. Needs excellent comic chops and star power. Needs a glorious singing voice with high soprano and belt capability. Role originated on Broadway by Kristin Chenoweth. STARRING
FIYERO Male, 20 – 35, any ethnicity. The Winkie prince, a wealthy party boy. Very handsome with striking presence. Not really shallow and self-absorbed as he initially seems. Glinda pursues him, but he is much more intrigued by Elphaba. Needs strong, high pop/rock singing voice. Role originated on Broadway by Norbert Leo Butz. PRINCIPAL
NESSAROSE Female, 20 – 30, any ethnicity. Elphaba’s lonely, compassionate, attractive younger sister, she was favored by their father. Has spent her life crippled in a wheelchair. Becomes involved with Boq and becomes the Wicked Witch of the East. Needs a commanding actress with a strong singing voice. Role originated on Broadway by Michelle Federer. PRINCIPAL
BOQ Male, 20 – 30, any ethnicity. A helpless, quirky munchkin. Enamored with Glinda, who pays him no mind. Reluctantly, he becomes involved with Nessarose. Needs a comical actor with a strong, high singing voice. Role originated on Broadway by Christopher Fitzgerald. PRINCIPAL
Preparation
Be ready to sing 16 bars of contemporary musical theater song showing range. Bring sheet music & photo (snapshots ok) & resume stapled together. Accompanist provided. We may ask you to sing the full song and/or return on Tuesday, Oct. 5 and/or Wednesday, Oct. 6 for a callback. Typing may occur.

You don't understand... i HAVE to see her do the show. It's everything I've ever talked about! Sure, the other girl may do it perfectly but its Idina's "thing" she HAS to come to Toronto!... thats it! i'm calling the producer!.... only if i can get the number from my director though.... :S ill try!

Did some more time. But now I'm back in Oz! And though the faces may have changed. The hassels are JUST the same.

Elphaba3, rumour has it that Mirvish is bringing her in for the opening week then sending her back to NYC. She's just kicking the tour off or something.

I think the Mirvishes are a bit , well lets not say desperate, but def in urgent need of a sell out time show & will pay BIG bucks to whoever can give them one. Producers clsed Hairsparay is closing Ratpack isn't doing so well & I personally think A couple of Blagards will do only so so. Wicked is it otherwise this season is a wash. My guess, she will appear for maybe 1/2 the run.
