What an outrage. The Old Globe run did qualify it for the award, yes? No doubt Sam Harris is furious!

Between the snubs for this and 101 DALMATIANS, the Pulitzers have cemented their elitist reputation as patrons of "artistic" theater, with no regard for the tastes of suburbanites and tourists who just want to see real people (and dogs) singing and dancing in front of them for two hours.

No doubt when FIRST WIVES gets a Broadway run, the unheralded genius of Rupert Holmes and composers Holland-Dozier-Holland will be vindicated. Just keep hold on, Barbara.
