No Scary Spice tonight in RENT.

I see that someone has posted that scary wasnt in tonight already... I just wanted to post exactly what the little insert in the program said tongiht, since I was there...

So I got to the theatre to pick up my tickets for tonights show at 6:00 and I over heard people talking and saying "should we tell them she's not in" and stuff like that. I never figured they meant scary spice, but when we got to the show and opened the program that little annoying paper fell out of my program and it said "under doctor's orders, due to inflamed vocal chords, Melanie Brown will not be playing the role of Mimi at this performance."
Well the show clearly went on without her and with Karmine Alers playing Mimi. The cast did a fine job with stand out performances by Mark Richard Ford, Matt Caplan and Maggie Benjamin (one of the best Maureen's ever!) There seemed to be some mic and sound issues tonight, I know the show like the back of my hand and I had trouble hearing and understanding some of the actors.
Anyway,hopefully Melanie, who I was excited about seeing, will be ready I mean "be feeling better" by tomorrow.
