Did anyone here see this show off-broadway? Did you like it?

Posted: 10/12/05 at 2:05pmI've never seen the show, but I have both the New York and the Italian cast recordings and both are wonderful. I also got the script and it seems to be a fun, funny, but moving show. Also, a great tour-de-force for a great character actress, if you have one actress play both mothers and all of the victims like the original did. When they did this show in London one woman played the mothers and another, Donna McKechnie in fact, played all the victims. Still a valid choice, but not as fun IMO. Plus, the whole point is that Kit kills these women because they remind him of his mother. Christopher McGill - it's a dream role for me!

I have the Off-Broadway cast. Great cast, but the score is uneven, with only a few really good numbers. The opener and "So Far So Good" are wonderful but I don't think the rest of the score is that great.

Have the CD, love it, and actually posted a thread about it a couple of weeks ago....
The book, by my favorite author William Goldman, is also great.
