Every day I check Telecharge waiting for the moment I can buy Hello, Dolly! tickets and I noticed at the bottom of the "Quick Facts" box it says the theater's coat room does not allow "strollers or furs."

I understand - strollers, I think. They take up a lot of space. But my goodness, who would bring a baby in a stroller to the theater? Live and learn, I guess it's been done or they wouldn't post it.

As for "furs"... Where do they draw the line? Does it have to be a full length mink? Is a stole ok? How about a leather jacket with a fur collar? Are the Shuberts vegans, so all fur is out? Are they afraid of PETA protests and getting their theater covered in orange paint? Are they concerned about space? If so, what about a full length faux fur shearling coat, is that ok? That would take up as much - if not more space.

Just curious, and BTW, can anyone drop me a hint of when tickets may be going on sale? Not that I don't love reading Telecharge every day... but apparently it's making me a bit batty.

Yes, many coatrooms won't accept furs due to the potential liabilities, like theft, misplacement or giving someone the wrong fur. Most Broadway theaters don't allow children under the age of four; I don't have kids myself, but isn't four and up a little old for a stroller? So to me that would seem like more of a nonissue.

Some parents still lug around a foldable stroller for kids between the ages of 3-5 in case they get tired of walking (long distances). it's not that strange.
