It depends on the church. Wouldn't fly in mine.

I just need to know because I found out today I have a solo to do in church!

The only line I can think of that might be considered even remotely bad is "so there's hell to pay." If your church would be okay with that, then go for it.

Ha... Yes the line that worries my parents. Well im my copy there is 2 verses and the alternative line is, " And I have to say, If you did I'd die" Why would it not fly in your church freeadmission?

Depends on the occasion. Wouldn't exactly be fitting for a wedding or a baptism.

Just sing "Amazing Grace." That always works, no matter what the occasion. Easter. Funeral. Christmas. It always works. No ifs ands or buts.

Sing "Dance,10 Looks,3" instead. That should get the offering plate full.

What is your reasoning for singing Not A Day Goes By? how can you make it spiritual? Isn't there a lyric that says something to the affect of "...thinking and cursing and waking and crying..." or something like that (I just woke up so I haven't had my coffee yet) Are you singing it as though you're talking to God? What kind of church would encourage you to just sing whatever show tune you feel like at a service? It seems very strange to me. Hell, sing The Impossible Dream at least - I mean - it's very spiritual and uplifting.

"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!" Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!

"Why would it not fly in your church freeadmission?"

In the OPC, no one sings solos and no churches have contemporary songs in worship. It's all hymns and metered Psalms sung corporately.

As much as I love the song, I'd have to say I don't think it's appropriate for church. How is singing "Not A Day Goes By" a direct act of worship? But I don't wanna start an argument on religion. LOL Flip through the good ole Trinity Hymnal. There's some great stuff in there.

Just my $0.02. :)

"Climb Every Mountain" That would fly, cause it was sung by a nun.

"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." "No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one." Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.
