I think she could be B'way, maybe even a DREAMGIRL revival cast. Or the long-awaited movie of that property! That score is so fine, how have the movies neglected it so long?
Hum I just like that one song. But I might get it.
I've heard mixed reviews about it (not that I really listen to reviews...I like to be the judge of what I like and don't like). Apparently most of the album is slow balads. I think I'll listen to it in the store before making the actual purchase. Thank God they have those listening stations.
Beyonce was amazing on the Today show this morning. I wasn't going to get the album, but after seeing her perform live I will definitely be buying it.

Heard about 80% of it..
The “Crazy in Love” song is THE song of the summer in my humble opinion (next to the Pink song from Charlie's Angels II)...
And most of what's on it range from really good to average (but a classy average)..
It's most certainly not all ballads...Beyonce knows what she can do well...and Ballads are'nt on the top of the list yet.
Dangerously in love (the BIG Ballad) is very well done...
If you have a beach house. or workout a lot...this is a fun one..
...
If they are smart and film DREAMGIRLS...she really would be great in the "Diana Ross" role...

Beyonce's Today Show performances were as awful as her Saturday Night Live performances. How is Beyonce picking which part of the songs she is going to lip sync to and which she is not? She stopped singing at the same places on SNL but those lead vocals kept going for entire verses.
And as for the ballads, could it officially be the end of the overuse of melisma in contemporary pop? Listening to Beyonce run 14,686 notes per syllable is just dull and annoying.
"I want audiences to appreciate my harmonies and my skills," she said without a trace of irony or humility. That's a line for a business prospectus, honey, not for something you actually say in public. And by the way, Laura Benanti was slayed on this board for much, much smaller displays of what people perceived as arrogrance.
And that, as Beyonce would sing, is all I have to say about thay-ya-ya-yuh-yuh-ya-ya-yuh-yuh-ya-ya-yuh-yuhya-ya-yuh-yuh-ya-ya-yuh-yuh-ya-ya-yuh-yuhya-ya-yuh-yuhya-ya-yuh-yuh-ya-ya-yaaaaaaaaahuhuyaaaayut.
that Butch2, always a breath of fresh air! But I do agree she can oversing. As for not the best interview skills, she's still pretty young for that kind of thing. i enjoyed her acting in the Mike Meyers Money Machine (though not enough to watch CARMEN A HIP HOPERA) and would like to see more roles with singing. Not sure she has the vocal or acting chops for the Deena/Diana role in DREAMGIRLS THE MOVIE, but she'd make a hell of supporting Dream, maybe the one who gets the "Party" song in Act Two.
Yet, if VOICEANTH would let me watch him work out to his new Beyonce CD, i'd probably let him cast her. That's my Destiny, Child!

Beyonce would make a great Deena, it's been said before, but I'm reiterating. lol

TxTwoStep, you have a one track mind!(LOL)
Wish me luck as I am off to P-Twon for a weeks vacation...will change photo yet again when I get back!
I actually think Michelle Williams has a better singing voice, but Beyonce is good. They can both go far with solo careers. Now, as far as the other girl....well, that says it all right there because I don't even know what her name is.
enjoy the Provinces, VOICEANTH, I'm sure the shows there are much more intimate. Particularly when you start the standing ovation, member by member....
There was a report on MTV today that Destiny's Child may be adding Beyonce's sister Solange to the line-up (becoming a quartet again instead of a trio). Maybe that's to set up some of the resident divas having latitude for more solo projects.
What about this: DREAMGIRLS THE MOVIE WITH DESTINY'S CHILD...all female cast members present or past members of the newest highest-grossing black girl group...

Oh. Dear. God.
If anybody wants to know why Broadway is doomed...
try re-reading the whole thread and realize I was referring to a movie version. If that film is to be made, it will likely be in a video style, not a traditional style; it has nothing to do with "dooming" Broadway. That show, the reunion concert, and a possible future revival have all already made their mark on musical theatre. Having a personal opinion is of course your right, but kindly realize that thank god there is a variety of opinions on what is entertaining. Just because your particular one doesn't allow for something doesn't mean any aspect of "show business" (not both halves of that phrase) is doomed.
