Was on way to see "Wicked" last Thurs... walked by "Oz"... must have been around 6PM. Out of the theater walks Adrian Zmed.
I know he can dance... sings ok... (I think)
Has anyone heard anything recently about replacing Hugh?
Well if anyone can pack them in like Hugh it would be Zmed!
You know.... It just occured to me.. TRAVOLTA should take the chance,
You know I saw Howard Stern walk out of backstage from Little Shop- maybe he is taking over for Seymour.
lol
celebrities (if you can call Adrian that) DO visit backstage areas ya know...

Then people wonder why message boards get a bad rap. No need at all for your sarcasm. Was just trying to get some opinions of what people thought, thats all.
Broadwaylilhead sarcastic? I don't believe it!
no need to be sensitive.. was being silly.

Oh, so this is nothing new, huh?
broadwaylilhead is one of the kindest, most sincere members on this board! I wake up every morning looking forward to reading his enlightening posts. He has been sent from heaven!
I don't know if Zmed can sing (maybe he can), but I thought I heard that Boy from Oz was closing once Hugh was gone, or at his final performance. Not starting rumors, but......
Zmed did his own singing in Grease 2, I believe, and he was quite good. He also played Adam/Noah in Children of Eden, and he sounds great on the recording. I think he'd be a great Peter Allen. And I DEFINITELY agree about Travolta---he's perfect.

I'd like the show to go on - if they can find a suitable replacement for Hugh.
But the rumor I would like to really hear about - is whether they are going to film the show with Hugh on it and eventually release it on DVD/video. I know that there will be additional costs because of the filming but it seems very likely that the demand for the DVD will far outweigh the economics of filming it. The current trend of movie DVDs really providing the gravy for movie producers will work for this show. The demand will come from those who have seen the musical as well as from those who will not have a chance to see it - and maybe even from those who are simply Broadway fans. It makes absolute business and artistic sense ( if only to capture some excellent performances from the musical).

I heard Travolta turned it down. He probably thinks himself too big a star to be a mere replacement for Jackman, or maybe he doesn't want to do stage work at all.
Didn't someone post something about a new show coming to the Imperial in December or January? That would be a pretty short extension for BFO if it's true.
Hi - new to the board, but I'll chime in.
There are very definite other reasons why Travolta might not want to do it - rumors that have floated around for years.
Which sucks, since he might actually be good!

I would buy a copy as would a number of people we know who have seen it ( & all absolutely loved it ). It would make sense but will it happen. Regretfully it probably will not
I know this would never happen, but I could also picture Jim Carrey in the role.
I want Sean Hayes to do it! Hes a great singer, dancer, and and amazing pianist. I think he would be great and could definetly sell tickets.

I think Sean Hayes is adorable, and very talented... but for some reason I feel like he doesn't really have enough presence to pull this off. But who knows....?
