I was at today's performance, July 20th. Was nice weather and a relatively calming show (mostly ballads), with the following line-up. Please feel free to assist me with the name of the Phantom stand-by and the names of the songs performed by "Shout"

SHOUT: THE MOD MUSICAL
(4 Songs)

THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA
"All I Ask of You"
Carrington Vilmont/Rebecca Pitcher

"Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again"
Rebecca Pitcher

"Music of the Night"
Peter Lockyer

THE COLOR PURPLE
"What About Love?"
Kenita R. Miller/Angela Robinson

"Push Da Button"
Angela Robinson

"I'm Here"
Kenita R. Miller

"Too Beautiful For Words"
Angela Robinson

WICKED
"The Wizard and I"
Saycon Sengbloh

"As Long As You're Mine"
Saycon Sengbloh/Clifton Oliver

"For Good"
Saycon Sengbloh/Katie Adams

Afterward I chatted with Katie Adams (Glinda stand-by) for a good few minutes (after the crazy girl fans had been weeded out). She's very darling and happily renovating her new apartment.

But more exciting, for me, was meeting BroadwayWorld.com's very own Ben Strothman (our stellar photographer). He's quite the character and we chatted for what felt like 30 minutes. Really, all you BWW.com-ers who aren't in the habit of looking at photo credits and article by-lines, start to. Ben, for example, is absolutely fantastic and such a hard worker (and so funny). Keep an eye out for him at the next performances, because he's awesome (and has an affinity for my co-worker's nice calves) haha

The Phantom stand-by was ummm, Peter something (something that started with a "l")...can't quite remember.
Yeah, today's show was amazing.

And that guy from the audience during "Push da Button" was great. hahaha

Back, he spurred like a madman, shrieking a curse to the sky. With the white road smoking behind him and his rapier brandished high! Blood-red were the spurs i' the golden noon; wine-red was his velvet coat, when they shot him down on the highway, down like a dog on the highway, and he lay in his blood on the highway, with the bunch of lace at his throat... (The Highwayman. Sung by: Loreena McKennitt)

I assume you mean Saycon and Clifton sang "As Long As You're Mine"? :P

How was Kenita's "I'm Here" and Angela's "Push Da Button"?

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

Oh I'm so mad! Summer classes just started for me and now I won't be able to see any of the performances because my professor likes to keep us late! Unless I decide to leave early one day....hmmm...what a dilemma....

The announcer said that actor who sang Music of the Night was Peter Lockyer.

Not sure if the Raoul understudy was Carrington Vilmont or not because the announcer said a different name after the song.
Maybe a Phan can tell us what is what.

I was there in the first couple of rows. Before the show started, I talked to Katie Adams and she was such a doll. I saw her back in March. That guy was the best during "Push Da Button". I thought it was cool how that after "Shout" performed, the girls watched the show from the audience. My aunt had a conversation with the one in blue. Some old guy with a cane was annoying everyone by me.

I saw Kenita right after opening and LOVED her. Her "I'm Here" is really nice.

I guess he still doesn't have a vibrato that can poke your eye out, then.

I was sitting right behind the reserved seats in the front. I was writing a list of performances. I had a great seat but a group of women brought 6 or 7 young girls who wouldn't sit still or stop talking. They talked through the sound checks as well as the production; very inconsiderate. Otherwise, it was great. I am from the generation of "Shout" so I knew all the songs. They performed:"Downtown", "England Swings (Like a Pendulum Do)", "Round Every Corner", "I Know A Place", "To Sir With Love" and "Shout". This looks like a very entertaining musical. Each performer was identified with a different personality based on her color outfit. I still think that the great dancer in the audience is part of "The Color Purple" ensemble; he looked too professional!

Hi All, Yes, it was an awesome show yesterday in the park. The weather held out and great performances all around.

I was right up in the first few rows on the left where the performers hang out.Got Saycon, Katie, Rebecca, and the rest of Phanatom ( can't tell if the signaure saysC carrington or not) and Peter Lockyer to sign playbills.(sp?)Also, the gals from CP were so gracious and talented. Both signed my playbills.

There was an incredible vibe of support all around. I noticed all the performers cheering the others on and watching each others shows.. That was a nice show of mutual respect.

We managed to get a good dvd recordng of the show.. except when the annoying old man w/ the cane wanted to harass people and be a plain ol' geezer!I asked him repeatedly to move. There were afew older doozies in the crowd. I love when they show up at 1:30pm and want a front row seat/spot. Then they get annoyed and stand right in front of the stage and block your view. Only in NYC folks! LOL!

Matthew (or anyone else). I have you dancing w/ Angela from Color People on my dvd.. if you want a copy, let me know.E-mail me at :chloebelladonna@aol.com

I'd prefer sitting next to the old geezer than getting 3 young mothers who just came to talk with each other non-stop. They brought along their families of young girls who kept going in and out of the rows, annoying everybody. These people refused to stop talking; even those huge speakers I was sitting near couldn't drown them out. As if not enough, they opened up umbrellas so nobody around them could see. They even attempted to snatch some free food that was given-out to Bank of America employees.Only in New York are people so inconsiderate.

There must have been groups of INCONSIDERATE people throughout that park.

Sitting and talking like they're in their own living room.
Very disrepectful.

Sorry for the typo guys.. you KNOW I meant Color Purple.. LOL!

BTW, if the ol' geezer had sat down ... fine. But he was standing and blocking everyone's view.Very rudely too.. when asked to move aside to a spot where he wasn't directly in the line of anyones view, he madly waved his cane around as if to strike you.. psycho!!!

But I still had fun.. hope this Thursday doesn't rain.. looking foward to RENT!
