If the producers had any sense and any money left, they would transfer the MTC production of IRON to broadway with Farrah Fawcett. She'd be perfect for the part.

It's been a while since a show has closed in previews, but it happens. Face Value was the last, in 1993. Others in the 1980s included One Night Stand and Senator Joe.

The article says that it would have been Fawcett's Broadway debut. Didn't she do Extremities on Broadway?

Sad. I saw the show workshopped a few years ago, and have been looking forward to seeing what changes were made since then. If the show was anything like what I saw back in early '01, it's not big enough for Broadway, but ideal for a small off-Broadway space. It might have fared better at, say, the Minetta Lane, or some other intimate theatre.
Then again, I didn't see the new version, so for all I know it might not have worked anywhere. Oh, well...

What about The Red Shoes? Late 1993. I only remember having tickets and that it closed before I got to see it...but I can't remember if it had actually opened.

I saw the show..she was so lovely and charming..the director was holding her back...a carpeted stage..shag...and to put her in those dreadful shoes on that carpet..i loved her..they ought to fire the director ..rethink the set and go for it...farrah was a obviously terrified she would fall down.when she wasnt in the heals..there was no problem..and she connected with every actor..and she and the husband were great togetehr...shame on teh director...BRING BACK FARRAH

Wow. I saw it yesterday. It was pretty awful, but I was tickled to see Farrah Fawcett, an idol from my teeny-bopper days. (Had to have Farrah hair, you know). She looked miserable at the end of the show, taking her bow and now I know why. She's still a very beautiful woman and a pretty good actress, but I'd like to see her in something with more substance than this show. Audience had a real lukewarm reaction. And dang it all, I didn't have time to wait at the stage door for an autograph yesterday. Planned to do it on my next visit. Guess not!

p.s. I meant to add that I loved Farrah's (Bobbi's) dresses and her gorgeous suit, as did the rest of the women in the audience from the sounds of the oohs and ahs. The show did have charm and that gave it potential, but it wasn't realized.

Too bad. The performance definitely needed some work, but I did think that the supporting cast was excellent. Bobbi's husband and the young girl were absolutely excellent, actually.

the blonde girl and dark haired girl should have been switched...its obvious that bobbi should be "tailoring" someone like here self..and its more interesting to have opposites as competiton than a "copy cat" blonde .. made no sense
