A booth, in times square, that sells discoutned tickets.:) I'm sure more people will post more details.

TKTS is the ticket booth in Times Square that has disount tickets for different shows each day. It's in the middle of Times Square near the Olive Garden and across from the Roxie.

It is the theatre lovers best friend. When I get to visit NYC I usually advance book my "Must see" show(s) for the weekend and then pick up half price tickets for any other available spots.

Some tips, if I may: Cash or travelers checks only. Be prepared when you get to the window-- I couldn't believe how many people would stand in the line for HOURS and then get to the window and ask "Do you have any Lion King tickets?" Be polite to the people selling your tickets. It's not their fault Wicked is sold out.

And my last tip-- if you are an omniverous theatre consumer, wait until about 7:30 when the line is GONE and stride right up and get something unique. Some of the best shows I've seen were the "Last minute wonders" I picked up at TKTS.
