Even the Tony show's host, married Australian actor Hugh Jackman, has a gay connection. He'll debut on Broadway this fall in "The Boy From Oz," a musical based on the life of the late bisexual Australian songwriter and performer Peter Allen.

Not to stoop to his level, but if you read his bio, you will see why he is clearly homophobic..the PTC is a VERY conservative (emphasis on VERY and CONSERVATIVE) advocacy group.

Yes, quite the ass. That's indicative of the fight we have in this country for equal rights. Until the people who are bigots in the name of religion grow up, change just won't happen. Very frustrating!

Everyday I pray for bigots like this that they would be given the common sense God gave a five year old...

I actually prefer the 5 year old. Oneof the things that I love about children, when they are small, is their acceptance of different types of people. If a small child sees two men kissing, all they see is two poepl in love. It isn't until they are taugt to hate that they start to piss me off. And hate is learned.

Broadwayguy and others - don't waste your energy getting mad at an idiot like this. Any one who has so much hatred probably is very insecure and carries a lot more inner hatred toward himself. I wouldn't doubt his homophobic attitude is a defense mechanism for his own homosexual desires. Hmm...may be I will write him to say, "stop pretending you're not gay!"

Wow. That sounds almost identical to what my homophobic [blank] had to say. God, he mentioned just a bit and everyone was on him like rabid dogs to a juicy, bloody, and yummy steak. Eh...people. If they don't like it, then don't watch it! TV isn't based on religion. It's there for everyone. Instead of bitching to the pubic about how it 'shouldn't be there' and how it should be banned they should get some balls and start being a parent and, if they care so much, monitor what their child is watching. Not treat it like a babysitter and get pissed off every time it f*cks up according to your standards!. As you can see I don't believe in banning things or in censorship. Just lazy parents who have nothing else to do but bitch.

Let them vocalize how they feel. The Tony Awards are here to stay, and if you Mommy and Daddies started teaching you're children "Theater is a fun universal sport. Not just for prissys" then maybe you'd see more hetero winners and nominees
