I love and respect his work so much. He did astounding things in his tenure at Trinity Rep. His production of Angels in America was breathtaking.
I guess that I was writing my post when you posted this one. I totally agree with you. Here is what I had posted in another thread:
I am happy to hear that Oskar Eustis has been hired to be the new Artistic Director of Manhattan's Public Theatres. I had the opportunity to work with him back in 1984 at the Eureka Theatre in San Francisco. He was the Dramaturg on a production that I co-directed there. He has worked with a number excellent playwrights, including Tony Kushner and Emily Mann, both as a director and a Dramaturg. He comissioned and later directed the world premiere of Angels in America. I wish Oskar all the best.

Must be hard following George Wolfe. The man did such a wonderful job. But if Namo likes him, the guy must be talented.
Namo is a tough critic.

FindingNamo's a tough critic? Why? Because he didn't like Wicked?
It was not a slam at Namo.
Namo is very smart. VERY SMART.
And what does Wicked have to do with it?

Can there possibly ever be a thread on this board about something related to theatre, which is not "Wicked", without someone bringing "Wicked" into it?

Pab, who cares? Just ignore it.
Congratulations to Mr. Eustis, and good luck to him. Wolfe is indeed a tough act to follow.
An inspired, brilliant choice! Bravo!
