Word on the other boad is that the cast for ON THE TOWN at Encores! will include Leslie Kritzer as Hildy Esterhazy, Tony Yazbeck as Gabey, and Jessica Lee Goldyn as Ivy Smith ("Miss Turnstiles.")
This is shaping up to be quite a cast!

Eh.
NO, NO, NANETTE had "quite a cast."
These are a bunch of entirely unknowns.

The fact that they may not be "known" doesn't diminish the talent that makes them great casting, Yankee.
No one can ever replace Lea Delaria as Hildy IMO.

Why is Encores doing On the Town? The last production from the Public that went to Broadway was a bit of a snoozefest.

Bernadtte Peters was my favorite Hildy. God, how many years ago was that?

The Columbia recording preserves Nancy Walker's unbeatable Hildy. I've never heard ANYONE do I Can Cook Too and Come on to My Place like our Nancy. Would have given anything to see it.

None of them are really unknowns--in the last two years they've all had featured roles in high-profile Broadway shows.
I'll just bump this...it's Tony Yazbeck, Christian Borle, Michael Cumpsty, Andrea Martin, Leslie Kritzer, Jessica Lee Goldyn, Jennifer Laura Thompson and Justin Bohon. And Autumn Hurlbert is in the ensemble :)

I had heard about Kritzer, but I'm excited about the rest of the cast as well! Yay for a good announcement! (Meaning one not announcing the closing of a show.)
Jennifer Laura Thompson is pretty perfect casting for Claire. And Andrea Martin will be a hoot! Also, it's very encouraging to know that Scott Wise will be overseeing the choreography (for certain numbers).

I saw some black-and-white footage of Nancy Walker performing the latter at Bernstein lecture done by his biographer Humphrey Burton this week, so it does exist. Maybe worth checking if it's on Bluegobo or YouTube?

Scott Wise learned some of Robbins' choreography directly from the master, so there's some continuity.
I have 2 questions. Is there any promo codes for this yet? Also do they have student rush for the plays at city center? Thanks!

This is some really fantastic casting! (Especially Leslie Kritzer as Hildy)

WOW! What a cast...can't wait for this performance in a month.
I really like this cast.
And whoever asked about the P2P codes, they generally come one week before the first performance.
I have a question about the P2P. I just registered for this and in the email confirmation it said that they will email you the code and I see that someone posted that they email it to you a week before the opening. In the email it also said that it was selected shows, does anyone know for sure if this one is going to be one of the selected? Is there speical seats for this P2P code aswell? I just want to make sure that there is going to be seats available a week before the show starts. Thanks again and sorry for all the questions!
