Here's a beautiful shot of the beginning of "Slaughter On Tenth Avenue."

And something you never, ever see in New York productions.
The Curtain Calls.

I thought I'd end this simply, with a scene I would love to have seen: Ray Bolger and Doris Carson, on the edge of the stage singing "There's A Small Hotel".
I'd like to think Larry Hart has slipped into the theater and is standing in the shadows, watching, listening and probably jotting down lyrics for their next show.
Looking through the window
You can see a distant steeple
Not a sign of people -- who wants people?
When the steeple bell says,
"Good night, sleep well,"
We'll thank the small hotel together

I'm not sure if anyone noticed but it clearly says in this thread that the cast in London did TEN performances a week.
Wow.

Posted: 4/21/08 at 1:14amIt's in the article at the front. Performances nightly and FOUR matinées. And the cast appeared at all. No matinée subs.

ANYONE WHO SAW THE REVIVAL, MY ORCHESTRA TEACHER CLAIMS HE WAS IN THE PIT OF THIS SHOW. HES A LITTLE SCATTER BRAINED THOUGH, SO I'M NOT SURE IF HES GOT THE SHOW MIXED UP, OR WASN'T ON BROADWAY. ITS POSSIBLE THOUGH
CAN YOU PLEASE CHECK YOUR PLAYBILL FOR THE NAME "ARTHUR JOHNSON"?
IF SO, I'D BE HONORED TO BUY AN EXTRA OFF OF SOMEONE IF THEY HAD IT

I'm so sorry to disappoint you but 1983 is before the musicians were regularly listed in the program. The only names mentioned in the program are Paul Schwartz, the conductor and the twin piano players, Jeffery Klitz and Paul Lipham.
Nowadays, they always list the musicians but in the early 80s it was optional.
Sorry.

They tell me that this IS a shot from the show. It's the original staging of "The Three Bs." I thought Bolger did the number at a podium, but I guess I was wrong. Oh well, enjoy again.
