Voiceanth: To go from 1.9 million on cable to 6.6 million on Network in two weeks is astonishing...Had they aired this in the middle of the actual TV season ..these numbers could have been in the low teens....
The media is behind the show and now the Morning radio jocks are playing clips of it just as they did with "The Osbournes" last year and "American Idol" a few months back..
The buzz is LOUD!!
I predict this will be pulled from Bravo and aired on NBC in the fall..asap...
Queer Eye" Sees Ratings
Yes, the gay Fab Five are ready for prime time.
The fashion and culture mavens of cable's Queer Eye for the Straight Guy successfully crossed over to broadcast TV, helping NBC to big wins for the ratings week ended Sunday.
The Peacock dominated as both the most watched network, averaging 7.7 million viewers, and the most watched network among demographically desirable 18-to-49-year-olds.
Queer Eye did its part, with the makeover show bringing in 6.9 million customers in its prime-time debut in the 9:30 p.m., Thursday time slot after Will & Grace (22nd place, 7.9 million viewers).
I wasn't a fan of the half hour version they aired on NBC. I thought they cut out too many of the funny parts.

yes, the NBC airing wasn't all that good. They REALLY tried to tone down the 'gayness' I think. I even read an article about a local station somewhere that wouldn't air it after Willa nd Grace, but instead aired it in the middel of the night. They CLAIM it was becasue they don't approve of NBC changing their line-ups on somewhat short notice. Whatever.
By The Way, last night's episode withe th cowboy guy proposing to his girlfriend was WONDERFUL! Shoot, I was ready to say yes myself. He was a VERY attrcative, VERY VERY sweet guy. He even started to cry when the Fab 5 showed him the way they have the courtyard set up for his proposal. AND they hardly had to do anything to him. They just cleaned up the eybrows and gave him a manicure and facial. Not even a haircut! He seems to be a real catch for the lucky girl.

i love this show!! i just hope it stays on bravo because if they move it to nbc i sure they will cut it up and to tone down the some of the scenes.

I think if it goes to NBC, which I think it will, they will keep it an hour...and put it on a dead night like Saturday...anything to boost the ratings ...but I do think they will keep it an hour...........

That pause and the way she was looking around made my breath stop. But I mean, honestly, how could anyone say no to him?? After all that.
BTW, did I hear correctly that he used to be a stripper??

I've nothing againt "Queer Eye." I've seen the program.
I do want to voice my objection however to posting television crap on a message board focused on theatre in particular and Broadway in particular. I want to excercise my right to say that this topic is in the wrong place. This thread belongs on TVWorld.com (if one exists), in my opinion, or even QueerWorld.com.
I'd like to ask you consider helping to maintain the integrity of the site to theatre and its message board.
I'm positive your lining up to slap me, and that's OK. LOL
Yours for a better Broadway!

A performer who has been off-Broadway and on Broadway, is on the show...
Thus making it off-topic but related...
I think this show is cute! Did anyone see last nights episode?? It was so good!!!!

I enjoyed the show, but feel it would be better in a half hour format. This show is sooo similar to Tyler Florence's FOOD 911 and that does very well as a 1/2 hour show. There was much that could have been eliminated from last night's episode, but that guy Tom was cute and desrved a better girlfriend. Was that a nose, or what?
I really enjoyed the way Tom's relationship with the Fab Five grew.

Tom's girlfriend looked like a hooker from the 'glory' days of 42nd Street pre-Guliani.
The second guy -- the cowboy - was wonderful ::drool::
I love this show! I was rolling when Tom said that people say he looks like Keanu Reaves and the blonde guy said that people say he looks like Ellen Degeneres.

Tonight they are re-airing the episode with the hot former Urban Wowboy (sorry, Matt Cavenaugh!) John proposing to his girlfreind. If you didn't see it before, watch it. the guy is unbelievably attractive and sweet -- almost makes me wish I were a str8 woman. (ALMOST)
