Has anyone seen this play by Lillian Groag about Sarah Bernhardt's rivalry with Eleanor Duse? I believe it's been performed at Yale Rep and in Los Angeles...
Huh, that title is confusing. I immediately though of The Lady of the Camelias, the Dumas play that Sarah Bernhardt famously starred in and which was eventually adapted into Verdi's La traviata. But that's probably just me.
I take it they are related somehow, though?
I think the gimmick of the play is that its a farce about when Duse comes to Paris and the two "rivals" are both performing the Dumas play at theatres next door to each other.
