SO many plays. I'm keeping an eye on Eclipsed, Kill Floor, Songbird, and First Daughter Suite though I probably won't end up seeing them. Trip of Love, Dames at Sea, and Therese Raquin are the ones I already have tickets for. Futurity and Hell's Belles are the ones I don't have tickets for yet but will probably end up seeing.

Yes, I count 38 -- and that's just the ones I listed.
The four Public Theater plays opening this month (including Eclipsed and First Daughter Suite) do all look strong.

The October openings I've seen so far are Catch The Butcher, Perfect Arrangement, The Humans, and Futurity.
I am surprised that Catch the Butcher has already been open for almost two weeks because at least from the performance I saw, it's not there yet. Actors are still stumbling over their lines in a play that has to be performed very confidently to be convincing. And it doesn't seem like they've found the right balance of tone yet.
Perfect Arrangement was very good. I had some issues that didn't affect my enjoyment too much but it's immaterial as I highly doubt they'll change in previews.
I am also surprised to learn that The Humans is opening much later this month. While I didn't connect with it, it already feels like it's ready to open.
Futurity is already great. I want to see it again.

You like to see things in previews, apparently

I actually hate seeing things in previews but if the price is right, I'll obviously go rather than not see the show at all. I would rather see the show when it's locked into whatever it's going to be. And preview crowds can affect the experience for better or worse.
I really enjoyed Trip of Love. I specifically saw it the night before it opened.

How was Rothschild & Sons?
I saw the original production The Rothschilds. I am always leery, especially with a musical, when a 2 act show is "streamlined" and cut to 1 act. We're any numbers cut? The standout numbers in the original were "He Tossed A Coin " & " In My Own Lifetime". Were they still in this production?
