Hello folks...anyone out there trying to get tickets for "The Odd Couple" this morning? I took the morning off work to try calling in and surfing Ticketmaster this morning...absolutely NO tickets available on any dates I've chosen thus far! (And I'm choosing weeknight tickets as well as weekends, far into the run...)
On hold with Ticketmaster for over 1/2 hour now...geez, I really hope Ringo and George join Nathan and Matthew for this! (Is it 1964??)
Well...after being on hold for over an hour, no luck whatsoever. Only decent seats are going to American Express Gold card holders. I'm just a garden variety AmEx Platinum cardholder...
Something is wrong with this system. We've all said it before, and it still rings true - at least for me.
Yep, I was ready and waiting for the sale to start and couldn't find anything at all for my dates.
Also tried to find just a single ticket for Feb/March next year and was offered (max price) seats right at the ends of the orchestra and front/mid mezzanine rows.
Hard to believe that pretty much everything hasn't already been up for grabs for at least a month - the presale system is pants.
Anyway, hope others out there have more luck! :)

I got good tickets for Tuesday December 6th. Mezz Row G, $75 each. Not too bad...just ordered them...

Part of my problem is that my partner is visually-impaired. Neither the Brooks Atkinson nor Ticketmaster offers tickets for visually-impaired persons. We sat in the mezzanine a few times and my partner likened it to watching TV in the building across the street. I'm glad some folks are at least able to get mezzanine and are happy with that.

Let me make a suggestion about TicketMaster. Call one of their phone numbers in an out-of-town city, like Philadelphia or Chicago.
You're not kept on hold for hot tickets like THE ODD COUPLE and sometimes you get the seats you wanted. Don't ask me why, but it works.

The system is ridiculous. The NYT article said: "The type of advance sale that "The Odd Couple" offered through American Express is increasingly popular among producers, guaranteeing money in the bank long before the reviews come in. It also cuts down on costs, reducing the need to advertise after the show opens".
Even if they had held off until today without the presale, they still would have sold long before opening night. It's BS.
I called the NY TM number from out of town and had no problem getting through (many times as my cell cut out) but it didn't help me get tickets for my dates.
I did end up with some single tickets for an alternate date in the Mezz for $75, off to the side.
Does anyone know of the sight lines at BA Theatre? Good? Bad?
I tried with American Express Gold last week and they said they had nothing. My friend tried today, because they went on sale to the public, and she said they could not sell her one ticket any day, any time etc. How is this possible?

Got my tickets this morning on the ticketmaster website. It was a horribly slow process. Brought seats to front mezz row A at the end, thought it was better than the other options I was given.
I have a question. Have a physical disability. How many steps will I need to climb to get to the mezz? Are there hand rails at the end of the row for patrons?
Could not find accessibility info for the Brooks Atkinson anywhere. Any info will be highly appreciated.
Thanks.

I also had a miserable time getting thro. I settled for 3 tickets in March----one behind the other in the last seat in the rows (orchestra, row K) They said there was no obstruction at least. Does anyone remember how large this theater is? Is it very wide?

To all --
I had no luck trying to get tickets for any of the first 5 weekends of the run. I was lucky enough to use my partner's AMEX card to get one single ticket for a weekend in November - but it was last row (Row L) way on the side.
I was told by the ticket agent that the AMEX block was not the entire theater inventory - but a specific block of tickets. He told me to check back on 7/5 as the full inventory would be released at that time. I thought I might have a chance at a side orchestra ticket - but no.
It seems that the inventory was all pre-sold to AMEX... or was it? Group sales were available several weeks ago - another block that was gone before 7/5. In addition, I think that there may be tickets held back by the producers to handle the crush of requests from celebs and that type early into the run.
My suggestion to everyone (as if this crowd doesn't already know) is to keep on trying - I had the same issues with Lion King when it first opened. I wanted to see it (a show I was not really interested in) just to see it early in the run. I tried and tried to get a single ticket and even called the LA Theatrical office for Disney. Eventually, with perserverance, I hit a day when they had a handfull of tickets avaialable and grabbed one. Not great - but better than last row in the theater.
I am a little disappointed as this is a special "turning 50" trip I am giving myself. At least I have a ticket - and maybe they will extend through my annual visit to NYC in June 2006.
I went throught Ticketmonster online, and they came up with row K in the orchestra, on the end. Not content with that, I tried again, and came up with row A in the mezzanine, with which I was very happy (single ticket, Saturday eve. in Feb.). I just feel lucky to get any ticket!
Thanks for all of your help. I wound up going on The Dreaded EBay and paying entirely too much money for orchestra seats. My partner is going to KILL me when she finds out!
