Just listened to City Of Angels. Great score

I saw the show & thought it was great. Too bad it lost to Grand Hotel

I love that show so much! When it is staged right, it is breathtaking.

CITY OF ANGELS won Best Book, Best SCore, & Best Musical of 1990.
In all it won 6 Tonys.
GRAND HOTEL won 5 including Best Direction and Best Choreography.

I loved CITY OF ANGELS but I though GRAND HOTEL was more ground-breakingly dazzling. (FB's parody GRIM HOTEL still makes me laugh.)

Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!

I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
