This has been plaguing me since childhood... any help would lead to peace of mind!
What year did the original Broadway cast perform "Cool" on TV? I think it was done on the Ed Sullivan Show but don't know for sure. All I know is that their black-and-white performance was one of the most striking moments I have ever seen. They all ended the number whispering "cool," grouped together, their arms outstretched, staring with such intensity into the camera that the moment can only be described with that overly used but very accurate cliche, "it sent shivers up my spine." It was powerful, stunning... and something I saw when I was about eight years old and can't get out of my head.
