On Kate Burton filling in for Mary McCann In "Spring Awakening"

Can you imagine? The one weak link replaced for one glorious night of sheer perfection! Gee, I'll bet you could actually differentiate between the various characters she was playing. You think the producers had second thoughts, or does McCann get immunity from being replaced because of her founding member of Atlantic status?

Thanks for the thread. I see I am a "Johnny Come Lately" on this subject. However, it is nice to know I am not alone in my distaste for this woman. I saw the show at it's third performance and then again about a week or so ago. McCann was cold and tentative the first time out, and had not gotten much better months later, while the kids had gown considrably and just brought me to tears. I love these guys, I love their passion and I love this show. If I come across rutheless, it's only because there are so many goddamn great out of work actresses in this town who could make this role soar, I've worked with half of them, and I want so much to see it succeed in the move.
