On November 4, 2000.....

On November 4, 2000.....

I had the most delightful experience of meeting Miss Patti for the first time. Previously, I had seen her in concert in Austin in 1996. It's incredible to believe that 7 years have passed since our initial meeting. Thru the years since, I've seen her perform in shows and concerts in: Dallas, Houston, Richardson (north of Dallas w/Mandy Patinkin), SF (Sweeney), Washington, D.C. (Regina) and NYC (Sweeney). I've visited her backstage in Austin, Dallas, Houston and NYC. She's been incredibly nice to me and even called me her FANatic, when I last saw her in her "Sweeney Todd" dressing room at the Eugene O'Neill in March 2006. I truly admire those who think she is fabulous and has an enormous talent. Granted, she is not everyone's "cup of tea", but she is a force to be reckoned with. I'm just one of many Patti LuPone fans who just enjoy her music and her perfs. I just thought it is odd that no one has thought of forming a Patti LuPone Fan Club... with her blessing of course. Anyway, here are a couple of pics of Miss Patti and I in our first meeting, on November 4, 2000 at the Paramount Theatre in Austin, Texas. from RC in Austin, Texas...t.o.p.l.f. P.S. I hate my pics.. but she does look lovely.

"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)
